I am pleased and honored to be teaching 2nd grade at McAuliffe Elementary in room R1 - it's great to be an Explorer! I believe that learning can and should be fun and I am excited to share my love of learning with your child. Together we will experience Reading, Science, Social Studies, and my personal favorite... Math! I am often referred to at school as "The Math Queen". I will be helping your child master organizational skills and develop responsibility to prepare them for 3rd grade which I taught for the past 15 years. Parents: you can help your child by encouraging them to complete classwork, assist with homework, and read nightly. Remember your kids only get out of their education what they put in.
I've been an educator for over 17 years, but when I'm not teaching you will usually find me somewhere on my 3 acres tending my yard or my animals. Currently I have 2 cats, 2 dogs and 3 horses, which is why I chose a western theme for our classroom. I love to travel all over the world and especially enjoyed visiting Israel, Scotland and Ireland. I have three boys of my own. Chris has his masters degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in Medieval Studies and is now a Kern County Sheriff's Deputy. Richard is at Cal Poly finishing a Materials Engineering degree, and Benjamin will finish a Biology degree at CSUB this year. My husband, Sean, of 32 years is camp Director for R. M. Pyles Boys' Camp so we spend a great deal of time in the mountains riding horses and enjoying the great outdoors.
I hope you are excited to be one of my "McEnulty's Mustangs"!
