      Welcome!
My name is Mrs. Sanchez, and I feel extremely fortunate to be your child's teacher this year.  My teaching philosophy is student-centered with a focus on investigation, discussion, and looking for deep meaning within all subjects.  This year I hope that your child experiences curiosity and secures a love of learning new information. My goal as your child's teacher to create a positive learning environment, to challenge him/or her to try her best and grow as a scholar, and to realize that learning is fun!

What I expect of my students:
Sixth grade is an important transition year as students prepare to enter junior high.  I expect each child to develop responsible learning habits including:  filling out a daily homework planner, remembering assignment due dates, and coming to school prepared.  Students should also demonstrate kindness and respect toward themselves and all others. But most importantly,  each sixth grade student is expected to attend class, try his or her best, and ask questions!
