    Welcome to 4th grade!
Home of the Swidecki's Just Dancers!

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! Hi my name is Miss Swidecki and I'm looking forward to teaching your 4th grade student. What can you expect in 4th grade? This year your student will become fluent readers, develop strong math skills, learn proper grammar usage, become expose to science, learn art appreciation,  introduced to social studies,  and love physical education! I look forward to working with you and your child, as they grow academically and socially this school year!

My greatest accomplishment is being able to integrate my love for exergaming into my 4th grade classroom to fight childhood obesity in the school systems. Since 2010 I have used exergaming in my classroom for physical education. I wrote 4 grants through Donorschoose.org to get the equipment. I have also had the pleasure of setting my 1st World Record at the US Obesity Prevention Summit in West Virginia in July of 2011.  In 2012, I piloted the President's Fitness Program for the ACES's program at Sandrini, exclusively using Just Dance to help fight childhood obesity. Finally, in 2014 I piloted the Just Dance Intramural Lunch Program to get the students moving during their lunch hour. In 2015 I won the Farmer's Insurance Thank America's Teachers Grant to get more video game equipment to develop a school wide Exergaming physical education program to fight childhood obesity. I have also had the honor to be invited to the 2015 Games for Learning Summit to be apart of a national dialogue to use video games in the classroom as a tool for learning. Finally, I was invited to the 2015 E3 Expo to do a teacher takeover and cover all educational games!

On July 11-17, 2015 I became a Multi Guinness World Record Holder by Just Dancing 138 hours 0 minutes 34 seconds setting the overall longest video game marathon of all time and raising $7,305 at a national level for the Children's Miracle Network. All to bring National awareness to using Exergaming in the schools as a way to fight childhood obesity.
