• Welcome to Mrs. Greer’s First Grade Class

Dive into a sea of opportunities while we experience a year of new adventures and new friends. You have been chosen to be part of the “School of Fish” in Room A-1

A very busy and fun filled year had been planned in Room A-1. We’ll be studying and learning about many different subjects as well as working with buddies, doing great projects, exercising our minds and bodies, and a WHOLE LOT MORE!

It will be important to have a backpack at school each day.  You may bring a water bottle to class! The days are hot and water is good for you! Remember, just water in the bottles-no juice or other beverages!! You may want an insulated bottle or put the water bottle in a sock to keep your desk dry. I will provide you with everything else you might need here at school.

As we dive into the new school year, parents tend to feel like they are drowning under a sea of notes from school. Please know that each and every notice serves to keep you informed on what is going on at school. Please look through your child’s backpack each day!

Homework will be coming home on Fridays and should be returned on Thursdays. Please be sure to practice all of the flash cards and read daily! Your discipline folder will go home every Friday. Make sure mom or dad initial it after they look it over. Your discipline folder needs to be signed and returned every Monday.

I’m excited about starting the new school year and invite you to come see our classroom and meet me on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. The classroom will be open to explore.

Parents, I look forward to sharing more about policies and procedures with you at Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 8th. Mark your calendars for this very important parent night!

We are always in need of materials to assist in the learning process, so if you would like to contribute supplies for use in our classroom, here is a list of thing we could use: glue sticks, dry erase markers,  box of colored markers, colored pencils and pencils. Extra supplies are always appreciated for those who are not able to donate.

School starts on Wednesday, August 17th. We’ll have a GREAT year exploring the undersea world of LEARNING!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Greer           pgreer@pbvusd.net
