Rochelle Hendrix
    First Grade teacher
This is my first year as a Sing Lum Lion, and I am excited for the future.  Prior to returning to the classroom, I was the Assistant Principal at Loudon. My experience in education is varied.  I have taught Kindergarten, Fourth grade, a 3/4 combo and RSP (now IIC), in this district as well as the Bakersfield city School District.

Born and raised in Bakersfield, I attended area schools, and chose to continue my education after high school at CSUB, where I was awarded my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Special Education.  After spending several years working in the private sector, I came to the realization that teaching was my true purpose. In order to make that a reality I took courses and eventually graduated from Pt. Loma Nazarene University with my teaching credential.  Feeling the need to further effect educational change in an administrative capacity, I enrolled at Concordia University, Irvine where I was awarded my Administrative Credential and M.A.Ed.

I love "old school" and gospel music, musicals, movies and television.  I also love dancing, reading, and writing, and have published my first novel called CRUMBS.  I am currently working on my second.  Most of all, I love learning about fascinating places and people, new ways to solve problems, and how to think analytically.  It is my hope that you and your children will come to love learning as much as I do, if you don't already, and that your learning will take you on a wonderful journey from the halls of Lum, through Jr. High, High School and beyond.
If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to phone me at 661-664-1611 or email me at  rhendrix@pbvusd.k12.ca.us  I can also be reached via Dojo.  I look forward to getting to know you, and making this school year the best one yet.
