Mrs. Giselle Polenz
My name is Giselle Polenz and I am the secondary IIC Teacher here at Loudon Elementary. This is my second year in Bakersfield after relocating here from Denver, CO. I relocated with my husband via his work transfer, and my son Daniel. I also have a daughter, Giselle, who is attending college in Denver.
A native to Lima, Peru, I came to the US in 2000 and started my teaching career in Denver, CO. I received my Master of Arts in Multicultural and Bilingual Education (with an endorsement in Special Education) from University of Colorado. I taught in Denver Public Schools from 2000-2011 and then 2015-2017. In between, I spent 4 years with my family in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where I was a classroom teacher/ interventionist for the International Schools Group (ISG) in Jubail, SA.
Throughout my career, I have worked with children from a diversity of cultures, speaking numerous languages, and possessing a vast array of learning challenges and needs. I am excited to apply my experience and skills, helping students at Loudon Elementary thrive. It is an honor and privilege to teach your children. I will strive to learn as much as I can about each child so I can then provide specific and unique motivation to guide and support each child and maximize their potential!
