”We are the Music Makers, and we are the Dreamers of Dreams!”  Arthur O'Shaughnessy

I have always had a love for the arts: dance, visual, and especially music! I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in music from Cal State University Long Beach. I also received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSULB with a supplemental music credential.

I began my teaching career in Garden Grove at a private Catholic School teaching first and fifth grade for six years where I was involved in the children’s after school theater program, as well as coached the cheerleaders. I participated in multiple choirs during this time, too. I moved to Bakersfield where I was hired by PBVUSD. I continued to teach in the general education classroom teaching second, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade for fifteen years.

After this amazing career as a general education teacher, I was feeling called to use my music credential and share my love for the visual and performing arts. I am so thankful that the district embraced my desire to join the music department. Now I’m blessed to work with TK and third through sixth grade.
